Studying music is more than just learning an art. The experience gained from performing in a recital can translate into improved confidence speaking and presenting in front of groups. Many of our students attend our school with this particular goal in mind. Music theory, the study of music's fundamental science and organization, has many analogues to basic math. Our students are sometimes distressed to learn that they have accidentally completed math problems during lessons. Finally, music has been a basis of human communication and expression from time immemorial, and no study of music is complete without a look at the adjoining history of the period in which it was composed. Our students can expect to learn more than just notes.

Common topics we teach include music theory, ear training, ensemble work, history of music, and many more.

Music to us is far more than a mere extracurricular. It's pretty much the equivalent of a full-body workout for the brain. Studying instrumental music or voice can help increase confidence, improve study habits, build coping skills, and establish a healthy emotional outlet. There's nothing we like talking about more than what can be gained from music, so please send us any outlandish questions you may have!
